Description
Leon House, developed by Pocket Living in SE7 Charlton, offers 51 compact, high-quality one-bedroom homes aimed at first-time buyers. Designed by Gibson Thornley, the scheme comprises two five-storey pavilion blocks framing a central landscaped courtyard. This layout breaks down building scale, encourages community interaction, and delivers generous communal spaces amid a modest footprint.
Clad in a traditional 1930s ribbon-brick palette, the façade echoes neighbouring interwar semi-detached homes. Precast stone-like detailing marks stair cores and entrances, creating vertical accents and reinforcing the building’s civic presence in a low-rise suburban context
Our Services
EBM provided detailed support to develop the staggered corbelled brickwork around the main entrance, delivering both aesthetic refinement and structural integrity. We advised on special shapes and brick bonding strategies to maintain visual rhythm and tactile quality, enabling a traditional brick expression within a contemporary modular development.
